The summer in the Okavango - Kalahari region can be unbearably hot and humid (it's the wet season). Grasses grow tall, giving perfect cover for wildlife, making it very hard to spot.

By the time April comes along, things have started to dry up and animals become much easier to spot.  Towards the end of May, the heavy floods start making their way down from Angola into the Okavango - and with all that water coming in, wildlife has a greater tendency to disperse, and getting about becomes more challenging.

It's for these reasons that we've chosen April / May as the season for our trips to the region.
